About me
I am a 60-year-old outsider artist, single mother of one adult child, and grandmother of one two-year old grandson. This blog will be about the role of a grandmother, changes in personal identity, growing older, in-laws (or “outlaws” as we call them in our family) and just about anything that comes up. I was originally going to write a political blog but I knew that wouldn’t be good for my health because I am so (too?) passionate about American politics–American injustice, both here at home and around the world. I hope to pass on some of my progressive thought about social and economic justice to my grandson, to teach him that what is best for his community is also best for him. Capitalism as an economic system is hopefully coming to an end since it clearly results in a handful of very wealthy people at the top and the rest of us just trying to make ends meet. Capitalism also promotes psychopathy, a lack of conscience and concern for other people and the environment. It’s all about getting rich quick, no matter what the consequences to others. I hope I can be a good role model for my grandson so that he grows up to be a conscientious, caring, generous man.
